Relaxing first-person "walking sim/adventure game" available for download on Windows PC

During the nice weather we should really all get out more – get some exercise, enjoy nature, soak in the sights. But sometimes that's not possible, or we simply get lazy, so the next best thing may just be a relaxing virtual stroll through the scenic wilderness, like we can enjoy now in Morning Shift Studios' newly released Lost Forest.

The titular setting isn't just any old forest, but an "enchanting forest shrouded in mystery and fog." Players step into the first-person shoes of an "intrepid explorer" who ventures into the woods for a "soothing journey" in search of hidden paths that will let you "uncover ancient remains, explore a majestic mansion, and find solace in serene camping areas." It's easy in this place to "lose yourself in the atmospheric beauty" around you, but only the most keenly observant will be able to "unveil the secrets of this mysterious realm."

Described as a "walking sim/adventure game," Lost Forest is a free-roaming 3D experience with semi-realistic graphics reminiscent of titles like Firewatch, though here you're completely on your own. There's a mystery to solve but the focus is less on story or puzzles and more on a combination of "exploration, relaxation, and discovery" as you "engage with the environment" throughout "a variety of handcrafted locations within the forest, each with its own distinct charm and allure." To top in all off, accompanying you every step of the way will be a realistic ambient soundscape and "ethereal" score meant to enhance "your sense of immersion and tranquility."

If you'd like to enjoy some of the great outdoors without actually stepping foot outside, you can start hiking right away as Lost Forest is available now to download on Steam for Windows PC.

  1. Ooh, sounds like a nice relaxation session between more demanding games. Think I'll pick it up...
