Full version of first-person ghost-hunting simulator available now for Windows PC

With the autumn equinox behind us, it's the season to start thinking about all things creepy and supernatural. Which means it's a great time for ghost hunting! Hot on the heels of Darkling Room's Incubus: A ghost-hunters tale comes word that D&A Studios' Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I. is now complete and out of Early Access.

Players control the "overly chill" titular character who's just starting out as a private investigator specializing in supernatural occurrences in his hometown of New Eidolon. At first business is slow and opportunities are limited, but successfully completing missions will result in more clients "wanting your help with their paranormal concerns." Each new case randomly spawns a different type of ghost (or ghosts) with their own history and unique characteristics that will impact how you approach your investigation. Only by carefully and thoroughly using real-world ghost-hunting equipment can you "narrow down the haunted locations within the property and slowly obtain evidence." Your task is not just to document enough proof of their existence to satisfy the homeowners, however, but to discover everything you can about the ghosts still lingering and ultimately free them, whether you "peacefully release them into the afterlife. Or, in the case of Demons, exorcise them back to hell."

Presented from a free-roaming, first-person perspective, Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I. is less a horror game than a ghost-hunting simulation that rewards player who are "patient and methodical." Authentic tools of the trade include such things as "an Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Meter, a high-tech thermometer, an audio recorder, a camera, and your trusty flashlight." The locations you'll explore are "meticulously detailed and have objects that observant investigators will be able to debunk as normal events," while even the ghostly lore and the "portrayal of apparitions ... try their best to align with the 'real-life' current thoughts of paranormal research." It may take more than one night to find everything you need, but in those cases it's best to wrap up and try again later than to end your investigation prematurely with insufficient evidence.

Originally launched in February 2022 with 20,000 copies already sold, Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I. is now content-complete and officially out of Early Access on Steam for Windows PC.
